Since the first Cross Media Summit for Content Discovery ( KendraSummit20070309 ), KendraInitiative has been making steady progress on our plans to develop data standards for . Details are on this site in the minutes of our weekly KendraCall and the plans for KendraWorldTour.
This page describes plan of action to put in place a formal, properly constituted and funded standards initiative on the theme of Content Discovery, which will attract participation from a critical mass of players across the full breadth of the in the creative industries.
Actions
1. Develop use cases and a stakeholder analysis to define the scope of our work.
2. Define relationships with other standards initiatives working in related areas.
3. Develop a business case for supporting KendraInitiative.
4. Develop a policy on Intellectual Property Rights.
5. Formalise the structure of Kendra and draw up a Memorandum of Understanding which allows and encourages organizations and individuals to declare their support for the KendraInitiative with confidence and a clear understanding.
6. Promote 1 -5 globally across all sectors of the creative industries.
7. Attract funding for the work, with a significant proportion of the funding coming from members who understand the Business case, agree to the Intellectual Property Policy, and have signed up to the Memorandum of Understanding.
8. Appoint a permanent secretariat or project office, to co-ordinate the work and drive it forward.
9. Organize working groups to develop standards and specifications, and liaise with software developers.
10. Upgrade the Kendra website to support 1 -9.
